Seasonal paper mache for the holidays
hi, this is Coryanne Ettiene, and today I'm going to show you how to seasonal paper mache for the holidays. This is a great craft and in fact one of the first crafts I ever tried with a Mod collection and papier-mache, and it was so easy that I really realized that there really noway to have it come together in a mess, so make this a family activity for all, to the kitchen table and make paper mache. I'm going to make a Christmas tree with the paper. What I've done, I save to my local craft store and I bought me one of those hard cones, you will see, you can use any time of the year, so much to do with these cones, but today I'm going to a small Christmas tree. With the season of decorative paper, I decided on this green motif, I like things a little bit antique around the ancient Christmas-time, so I cut to fit the shape of a triangle, to use my come, now, you usually do not need glue if you are using Mod hodgepodge, but I always like a little on the safe side, so that I can give with a little bit of craft clue to the side and around, below, only that little bit of extra support, grab your shaped paper and you turn it all the way, so that it is nice and cozy. Now, I'm using quick drying craft clue, so this will dry very quickly. You will note that I seam a straight seam on the back and keeps it nice and clean, and then I have a bit of extra, only on the outside, and what I'll do here is cut, in something, that will allow me to fold my paper make in on the cone, if I have the Mod-hodgepodge. And again, even if you don't need at all, I'm using a little craft glue, because I'm still a little insecure about my crafting skills so I just like to hedge my bets for success. Fold over the paper with the fold that you made already, and then hold it in place, just a little press, and then work your way all the way, now, don't worry, if you keep it immediately, if you have the Mod-hodgepodge, you will certainly stick for good. Now I have a nice smooth action all the way. I'm going to pin these Christmas such as the advent calendar, so that I have a choice of all these fantastic printed letters, I have a twenty one or a really fun, I think I'm going for the one-and-twenty,but since I am with a round surface, or there are actually twenty-three, I'm going to cut some feeds, this will allow to fold the paper to the cone. A bit sticky, adhesive, just give him a chance and I have my three-and-twenty, and give it a nice crowd while I hold me, I'll shear my and my glue out of the way and I have two ways of Mod-hodgepodge, I have the basic and I also have the really fun sparky way, I'm a bit of a magpie over the holiday season, so I'll definitely go for the glitter this time. You hold my cone in place, just give it some nice strokes with your foam brush and again and again the beauty of this is that it is not really important, if you mess up, because no one will really notice. Still a nice thick coat but not to thick, you don't want to saturate the paper, all the way around, paying special attention to the edges, or anything that they are bonded already. You can also see a little of the lip, when I pasted earlier, only on the application of this right over the edge and down to seal it to the right. Isn't it funny, how she always smells things? The minute I smell Mod collection, which reminds me of all of my holiday decorations that I made last year, when I for the first time presented. So, I have the entire cone treated with this shimmering Mod collection and you will see how it is a bit white, as it dries, it will dry clear, I'll let that dry overnight and then I'm going to have to continue with my one to twenty-five, so I have my advent calendar trees. But here's one I made earlier, to show you the shimmering effect. My name is Coryanne Ettiene, wishing you a very crafty holiday season.
