- Uninstall all Joomla extensions, before the actual back-end software. If you don't have extensions, go to step 3. Extensions, uninstall, login to Joomla. If you do not remember your Joomla login information, you can find in the confirmation E-Mail you receive, when you install the software. This E-Mail contains a personalized link that will allow you to in the Joomla-service.
- Click on the drop-down menu in the left side of your Joomla screen. Select "extensions" from the menu. Click on the name of each extension you have running. Joomla will then display the extension settings page. Click on the uninstall icon that looks like a trash can. Joomla will alert you when the uninstall is complete. Repeat for each extension.
- Launch your FTP software (e.g. Cyberduck for Mac or Fetch for Windows PCs). Login to your web host server. Wait for the FTP software to load a list of all the files and folders for the site. The right mouse button on the folder entitled "Joomla", and select "Delete" from the pop-up menu. This will delete all of the program files for the software.
