- daily newspaper
- White PVA glue
- you Tear the newspaper in thin strips, each about 1 inch wide. The number of strips you need depends on the project that you want to make. You have enough to complete the surface cover eight times.
- Mix two parts glue, one part water into your bowl. Add more or less depending on the size of your project, but make sure that the aspect ratio is correct.
- dip strips of newspaper in the papier-mache solution until it is soaked. Further, either the mold or place it over the object you use as a base. Cover your project with no more than four layers of papier-mache shaped. Let it dry completely.
- Add at least another set of four layers, to ensure that your paper is sturdy enough to withstand a little wear and tear.
tips & warnings
- paper-can make a significant and sometimes unpleasant smell, so try adding a little cinnamon to the solution.
- If you live in a very humid environment, add a little less water.
- the paper can be used to make a pinata. Easy to layer parts over a balloon, then pop the balloon once the pieces are dried.
- If you are planning in your painting-sculpture after it is finished, use plain, white paper for the last layer. It is lighter in color and less color.
