DIY-Rhino bust

what you Need
- book pages, 30
- scissors
- foam brush

- 1/4-inch paint brush
- acrylic color black and brown

- If you have your cardboard-rhino-frame comes with a cardboard shield, do not remove the plaque, since it is needed for this project. The rhino bust depends on the hole in the back of the frame, rather than the plaque that comes with it. & nbsp
step 1: Prepare the papier-mâché strips
cut to Tear the pages of your Newspapers in a long, 2-inch-wide strips. The size of the strip does not have to be exact.
step 2: Create a paper mache Paste
In a bowl, combine 1 Cup flour with 1 Cup of water. Stir the mixture with a spoon until the paste is smooth and thick, ensuring there are no lumps of flour in the paste.
step 3: Dip a strip Into the Paste
dip a strip at a time, into the paste and RUB the excess paste by sliding two fingers down the sides of the strip. To prevent as little paste as possible, over-saturation. Adding too much paste can extend the drying time and can lead to the formation of mold.
step 4: Place the strips on the Rhino Frame
Insert one strip at a time on the cardboard-rhino-frame. Further, the strip is immersed in the paste and lay them on the frame until the entire image is covered, tear off the strip size as you go. The direction in which the strip plays no role, as long as the entire image is covered.

If the paste starts to get thick, like the stripes on the cardboard, frame, add to, dilute 1 tablespoon of water to it. You will probably need to add water to keep up every 10 to 15 minutes, the paste is thin and lump-free.
step 5: Create eyelids
After you have covered the entire frame, add eyes on the sides of the head, between the ears and the first horn, to create through the bending of small strips of newspaper, the upper and lower eyelids. As soon as you bust satisfied with the shape of the head and of the eyes, the papier-mache dry for at least 24 hours, to ensure there is no moisture in the interior of the rhino.
step 6: Cut the pages of the book
Use a pair of scissors for trimming the margins from the pages of the book.
step 7: Glue the pages of the book to the bust
you Use the foam brush to apply a thin layer of decoupage glue on the back of the book page. Gently place the book page on the bust with the words, the perpendicular, until the bust. As soon as the book is not available, press down along the edges of the page, to ensure that no corners or edges sticking out. Furthermore, the pages of the book stick to the rest of the rhino bust. You need to cut out the pages of the book to the size as you go. After the whole bust is covered, let it dry for at least 30 minutes.
