Windows will send the documents that you print to a printer queue. Each printer on your system has its own, separate configured queue. If you want to switch print jobs to another printer after already sent it to the printer, the Windows provides the basic support for the move of print jobs. You can only switch, print jobs between the same type of printer. For example, you can not print jobs are transferred from a ink-jet printer to a laser printer. You can also send a print job, if it is in progress, or displays an error.



  • Click on "Start" and select "devices and printers." the
  • right-click on the printer queue, you can transfer the desired documents to a different computer, and select "printer properties." the
  • Click the "Ports" tab at the top of the printer properties window. the
  • Select the port the printer is connected by clicking it in the Ports section. If you want to transfer the queue to a network printer, click "Add Port", select "Local port" click "New Port" button, type the path to the shared printer in the form "\server_name\share_name", and click "OK". the
  • Click "OK" to transfer the print jobs to the other printer.
