Better System Debugger form : Multi-thousand tips to make your life easier.

An improved Form of the Bold system debugger

In the course of development I made a few Changes and additions in bold System Debugger Form. I call the result my better Debugger. Here are some of the Changes:the

• Debugger menu command in the system menu of the active form.




• Changed the object counter in the tool window




• the OCL Evaluator with the MRU list, OCL Editor Form and Eval in PS option




• OCL operations on any object rootable




• push button to Update, or discard all modified objects




• list for the selected class




• the Derived Member in the Grid, the background color and derivation OCL hint identifies the
  
• Some Bugs that as an Excersize for the reader :) On the left

Changes:

• display of the dirty object state (New, Deleted, Modified)




• Dirty, count window shows the per class count




• The most recently used list for classes




• OCL Editor to correctly rooted (introduced Fix)




• Index out of limits fixed error in the Grid (introduced Fix)




• Drag n Drop area of the car to start form the default for an object




• bold-class-root name is determined dynamically




• Regular expressions Regular Filter on the class list




• Better hint handling for Grid-OCL-references




• Grid context menu to show and Hide columns class




• columns of type TBoldObjectReference in green marks




• Removes all temporary object creation for the purpose of list Members, and method-in this Version of the debugger, unused). Create complete objects used should not have this method by double-clicking in the list class to run.

The Debugger form contains some instructions that provide a little bit of Information about what different things do. The modified object counter form indicates a reference to the fact that it can be clicked twice to close it.



Installation and use

you Install the form in a shared directory (unless you want to change it for each project). Then just add it to the project (or put it on the library path and use it in each unit).



The device contains an Init section, the menus for the Debug-Form fits into the active Form and the application menu System. These menus can be accessed by right-clicking on the active form title by Clicking on the system menu (icon in the upper-left corner of the window), press to activate the Alt space key (the system menu) or by right-clicking on the application button on the taskbar.

The Debug form can also be activated by Code:the



TBetterSystemDebuggerFrm.Create with system( nil, TBoldSystem.Default system ).show



Important

The menu entries, and in the above code example depends on one of the active fat systems with the IsDefault property set to True.



This Form and the Code is a derivative of the code from BoldSoft. These Changes are almost certainly unsuitable for the end user. You can use it however you want, but please notify me of Bug Fixes or Updates.
